The SSA-4590 universal ambidextrous fire selector is designed for semi-automatic AR15 and AR10 rifles. It has a modular design, allowing it to be installed as a standard selector with a 90° rotation angle or with a shorter 45° rotation angle. This gives the user an option to choose their preferred rotation angle for the selector lever.

The SSA-4590 selector levers, made of 7075 aluminum, are installed using a precisely machined dovetail connection known as the "Swallowtail." This ensures a secure fit and operation. For additional stability, the levers utilize a spring-loaded detent that holds the lever in place. Such a design eliminates the need for screws, which can loosen over time and get lost, and does not require the use of tools for installation.
